Council considers that the proper management of Councillor Gifts is a practical demonstration of Councillors’ integrity, impartiality and accountability and contributes to community confidence in the Council’s decision making.
The purpose of the Councillor Gift Policy is to:
- provide a transparent and consistent framework regarding offers of Gifts made to and by Councillors; and
- minimise Gift offers made to and accepted by Councillors, in order to protect and promote public confidence in the integrity of the Council.
