The Domestic Wastewater Management Strategy is a guide for the City and its partners in improving septic tank management.
The strategy has been developed with a vision of protecting our drinking water, our community, and our environments from wastewater pollution.
While there are segments of the strategy that must be included to meet State requirements, the strategy provides an opportunity to manage wastewater in a way that fits with Greater Bendigo and its needs.
Key chapters of the strategy include:
- Planning for Growth
- Areas for Improvement
- Areas for Careful Management
- Better Practice for Better Outcomes
Town sewer planning is managed by water corporations in their sewer and water plans, so the Strategy primarily considers septic systems and other onsite wastewater management methods.
