Peter Krenz Centre

A multi-stage redevelopment is planned for the Peter Krenz Centre in Eaglehawk to create a vibrant community hub. Current facilities are either approaching or at the end of their lifespan and many no longer meet community needs.

Total project cost – $27M

  • Victorian Government – $10M
  • City of Greater Bendigo – $7M

Stage 1

Stage 1 of the project will connect to the Centre’s existing aquatic facilities and include:

  • A new library
  • A new indoor/outdoor café
  • A 24/7 gym with strength and exercise equipment
  • Flexible meeting spaces with kitchenettes
  • Public toilets to service the wider precinct

North Bendigo Recreation Reserve

Proposed to demolish the existing pavilion and construct a new building. Located off Atkins Street, the current pavilion is used by the North Bendigo Football Netball Club and Bendigo Cricket Club as changerooms. The new building will incorporate female-friendly facilities, including four changerooms, umpire changerooms, function facilities, kitchen/kiosk, storage/first aid/office space, and outdoor, undercover viewing area.

Brennan Park swimming pool

Total project cost - $9M

  • Australian Government - $1M
  • Victorian Government - $3M
  • City of Greater Bendigo - $5M

In line with the Community Aquatic Facilities Strategy, upgrade Brennan Park Pool to a year-round outdoor heated facility focused on fitness and lap swimming. The design intent is for the site to be fully electrified. The City is currently funding detailed design work.
