City of Greater Bendigo service centres will close 3pm Wednesday December 24 and re-open 9am Friday January 2, 2026.

Multi-storey car parks

The multi-storey car parks in Hargreaves Street and Edward Street will be open in line with extended retail shopping hours.

Early learning centres

Annie Galvin and Helen Jessen centres will be closed this year from Friday December 19 at 6pm and will re-open Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 7am.

Maternal and child health centres
(including admin)

MCH: All Maternal and Child Health services will remain open for home visits on December 29, 30 and 31 from 8.30am to 5pm. Catch up appointments will be available during this time.

Resource Recovery

General waste, organics and recycling

The only waste collections affected over the Christmas-New Year period are on Christmas Day. No other general waste, recycling or organics collections will be affected during the holiday period. If your collection is due on Christmas Day, please put your bins out by 6am Saturday December 27 for collection.

Eaglehawk Landfill

Closing early Wednesday December 24 at 1pm and closed Christmas Day. Open all other days as per scheduled hours.

Eaglehawk Recycling Centre shop

Closed all public holidays.

Eaglehawk, Heathcote, Goornong and Strathfieldsaye recycling centres

Closing early Wednesday December 24 at 1pm and closed Christmas Day. Open all other scheduled days from 8am to 4.30pm.

Bendigo Animal Relief Centre

Closed Christmas Day.

Closed for redevelopment.

Djaa Djuwima - First Nations Gallery

Open 9am to 4.30pm every day except Christmas Day.

Pools and splash park

All aquatic facilities will be closed on Christmas Day. Find pools in your area 

Bendigo Airport

Qantas flights will be operating as scheduled.

Bendigo Livestock Exchange

Sales will not operate on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day, and will return on Monday January 5, 2026.
