Celebrating LGBTIQA+ communities

The City celebrates LGBTIQA+ communities and their contribution to making Greater Bendigo a diverse and vibrant community.

We recognise important days, including Transgender Day of Visibility, IDAHOBIT, Wear it Purple and Transgender Day of Remembrance.

LGBTIQA+ flags fly at the Bendigo Library Gardens on various days of significance.

Note on language

We acknowledge there are many acronyms used within LGBTIQA+ communities, and the acronym has limitations. The LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Action Plan uses LGBTIQA+ which stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual+, Trans and Gender-Diverse, Intersex, Queer and Questioning and Asexual and Aromantic. The + acknowledges the evolving nature of language.
