Community planning helps residents shape a shared vision for their area with support from the City of Greater Bendigo.
What is community planning?
Community planning empowers community members to create a shared vision for their area. It helps identify desired changes or new initiatives for their suburb or township. This process is community-led, with support from the City of Greater Bendigo.
Community planning involves engaging with community members to get their feedback about how to make the community a better place to live, work, study, and play. This process results in a community plan, which typically includes:
- An Acknowledgment of Country
- Introduction: Demographic information, community history, services, and groups, and the development process of your plan
- Vision Statement: Describing the community in 10 years
- Themes, goals, and actions
- Explanation of community planning
- Contact details of planning group and details on how to give feedback on the plan
