Grant objectives
Projects should fit one or more of the following program objectives:
- Support and promote the adoption of sustainable and regenerative land management practices
- Support properties to be ‘climate ready’ and resilient in the face of climatic changes
- Increase biodiversity and improve water quality and soil health on-farms
Eligibility
To be eligible, the projects must be:
- Located in the City of Greater Bendigo
- Located in either the Farming Zone, the Rural Living Zone or the Rural Conservation Zone
Example projects
Examples of eligible projects include:
- Fencing off waterways
- Indigenous plantings
- Protecting areas of native vegetation areas
- Weed management
- Moveable fencing and troughs

The grant program requires evidence of any permits that are required to complete the project . Below is a list of possible projects that may or may not require a permit. We recommend that you contact the our Planning unit to discuss whether a planning permit is required for the proposed works.
- Construction of a fence - may require a planning permit dependent on the planning controls affecting the property, the design and location of the fence
- Revegetation/planting, weed management etc. - will not require planning approval
- Control of declared pest animals - will not require planning approval
- Installation of water systems/troughs - will not require planning approval
- Cleaning out dams - will not require planning approval
- Works on a waterway - will require a Works on a Waterway Permit from the North Central CMA office
The Agribusiness officer is available to make on-farm visits in Greater Bendigo. These visits may be used to assist community members to learn about how regenerative agriculture and holistic grazing management can be applied to their property for environmental and production benefit.
