Volunteering in Greater Bendigo
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. They make enormous contributions through giving their time, knowledge and skills. Without volunteers, many of the things that support our community’s wellbeing and vibrancy simply wouldn’t be possible.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to ‘give back’ to our community and can also be a great way to meet new people, enjoy new experiences and learn new things. Some people find that volunteering can also be a pathway into employment.
Whether you’re new to volunteering or have paused your volunteering commitments, now is a great time to start or return.
Where can I volunteer?
Reach out directly to a local group, club or not-for-profit organisation that interests you and see if they need some support. We’re sure they’ll be happy to hear from you!
You can also volunteer with the City of Greater Bendigo or the Bendigo Volunteer Resource Centre can point you in the right direction of local volunteering opportunities:

Register your volunteering opportunity
Register your club or group on CONNECT Greater Bendigo and include volunteering opportunities by completing the following steps.
These steps are for clubs or groups that have not registered with the website before.

Click on ‘List a Club or Group’ (in the banner at the top, right-hand corner)

Click ‘register now’

Fill out the registration form

You will receive a confirmation email with a temporary password to log into the website

Check your emails and return to www.connectgreaterbendigo.com.au

Click on ‘Organisation Log In’

Enter the email you used to start the registration and the temporary password you were emailed (you will be prompted to create a new password)

You will then be taken to a dashboard page

Click ‘Add a Club or Group’, which will take you to a profile page to fill in all the details about your club or group

Under ‘Basic Information’ there is a ‘Tags’ section, in here type in ‘volunteer’

Scroll down to ‘Opportunities’ and select ‘volunteer’

Separately, if you would like to do a volunteer recruitment drive, you can create an ‘Event’ from the dashboard page. Simply fill in your details as prompted
