Launch of the Cultural Diversity Celebrations

Come and join us in the opening ceremony of the Cultural Diversity Celebrations occurring throughout the month of March. Each year in March, Australia marks National Harmony Day (March 21) coinciding with the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Bendigo Interfaith Council film fundraiser

A tour of local sacred sites

Join us for a free, family-friendly bus trip to four sacred sites in Greater Bendigo and learn about Greater Bendigo’s religious diversity. The bus trip includes tours of the following sites:

  • Bendigo Islamic Community Centre (local mosque)
  • Karen Culture and Social Support Foundation (Karen Buddhist Monastery)
  • The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion
  • Sacred Heart Cathedral

Festival of Friendships, Dahlia & Arts Festival

As part of the Dahlia & Arts Festival, our Festival of Friendships will bring to you multicultural food tastings, music, song and dance with stunning traditional  dresses featuring First Nations, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino and Zimbabwe/African cultures.

Presented by the Eaglehawk Community House in partnership with Indian, Filipino, and Zimbabwe communities.

Multicultural storytime

Free family event

Multicultural Storytime is a collaboration between the City of Greater Bendigo Intercultural Ambassadors and the Goldfield Libraries to bring together local story tellers of diverse cultural backgrounds to share their cultural stories and nursery rhymes in their language with the community.

2024 Holi - Festival of Colours

The Holi Festival is a fascinating cultural celebration that encompasses food, music, and colours where participants throw powder dye into the air, covering all in attendance with vibrant colours. Enjoy delicious food, Bollywood music and dance, DJs, cultural stalls, sharing of sweets, painting, and cultural activities. This is a family-friendly, and strictly alcoholfree, smoking-free, and drug-free event.

Presented by the Indian Association of Bendigo and Golden Square Swimming Pool.


Bendigo Latin Festival 2024

Bendigo Latin Festival is a family friendly event that will bring the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries to Bendigo in the hopes of offering our community a better understanding of our cultures through music, food, dance, piñatas and more.

Intercultural Hub - Easter Fair 2024

City of Greater Bendigo Intercultural Ambassadors are hosting an Intercultural Marquee at this year’s Easter Fair to celebrate and share the ways that cultural diversity enriches our community. Our First Nations community will join with the Intercultural Ambassadors to engage children in fun accessible activities, creating opportunity for them to hear different stories, and enjoy cultural diversity.

Presented by the City’s Intercultural Ambassadors Program in collaboration with Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services.
