The City invites you to a unique, four-week Women's Self-Defence and Situational Awareness Group Program.
This program promotes positive ageing in a fun, safe, and empowering space where women can connect and learn together. The sessions are designed for women aged 55 years or older.
This program blends Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based techniques with practical situational awareness strategies, equipping women with skills that focus on:
- Using leverage, timing, and energy efficiency - techniques that work for all ages and abilities
- Recognising and assessing risk in different environments
- Setting boundaries using verbal and psychological strategies
A male co-facilitator will demonstrate how techniques work in real-world situations, reinforcing their effectiveness.
Each session costs $5 per person, which is payable on the day via cash or EFTPOS.
Please note: If you've registered for the program previously, we will be prioritising new participants to give more people the chance to experience the program. You can get in touch with OVAIT to discuss attending sessions outside of the City's positive ageing program.
