A Place of Public Entertainment is defined as an area greater than 500m2, which is used for public entertainment. Additional Siting Permits may be required for any structures built or occupied prior to the issue of the Place of Public Entertainment.
A prescribed temporary structure is:
- Stage or platform exceeding 150m2
- Tent, marquee or booth with a floor area greater than 100m2
- Seating stand that accommodates more than 20 persons
- Prefabricated building with a floor area exceeding 100m2 which is used as an assembly building/place of public entertainment
A non-prescribed temporary structure is:
- Any structure less than that noted above
Supporting documents required:
- Site plan with clearly marked event area, toilet facilities, first aid facilities, drinking water facilities, fire services (i.e. fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants), emergency exits (including width of gate / door) and unsafe areas
- Emergency Management Plan
- Details of any other features such as;
- Fireworks/explosives/flammable materials (a copy of any license from Worksafe Victoria must be supplied)
- Amusement rides (all amusement rides are to be registered with Worksafe Victoria)
- Naked flames (i.e. theatrical productions)
