What's e-waste
E-waste - or electronic waste - is any item with an electric plug, battery or cord that is no longer working or wanted. It includes mobile phones, hair dryers, portable radios, computers, gaming consoles, lamps, electric fans, power tools and toys with batteries.
Most e-waste can be recycled. Items can be pulled apart, sorted and some parts recycled (metal, plastics etc).
E-waste can’t go in any of your kerbside bins. It is important to keep e-waste out of landfill so that materials such as precious metals are recovered. We should all try to avoid creating e-waste in the first place.
