Hiring our event bins
Organisers can hire our special event waste, recycling and organics bins. They are coloured and stickered to make it easy for participants to sort their waste correctly.
We can advise you on bin numbers and where to place them for your event types and answer questions. Contact us:
Event bin hire prices 2024/2025:
- Up to 5 bins: $170.50
- 6-10 bins: $226
- 11-15 bins: $263
- 15-20 bins: $404
- 21-25 bins: $462

Prices include delivery, empty and collection. Bin hire prices are for 240 litre bins.

Preparing your event waste management plan
Organisers need to prepare and submit an event waste management plan. Ask your City contact officer for a form. Your plan will be reviewed by a Resource Recovery and Education Officer.
Single-use plastics and local events
Single-use plastics include plates, bowls, cups, straws, cutlery, bags, bottled water, condiment sachets and containers, cling wrap and soft plastic food packaging. It also includes glitter, balloons, and plastic-lined containers such as disposable coffee cups and noodle boxes.
They are used for very short periods of times and then thrown away. They last a long time in landfill and pose a risk to animals and the environment. Single-use plastics have been banned from sale or supply in Victoria since February 1, 2023.
All events that use council services, locations or venues, including City staff meetings and events, must meet the requirements of our Waste Wise Single-Use Plastic Policy.
