Located in the heart of Bendigo’s City Centre, close to parking and public transport, Hargreaves Street Mall is an outdoor shopping mall and includes community event infrastructure suitable for small to medium scaled events and activations.
There are three distinct sections of Hargreaves Street Mall
- Area 1. Mitchell Street Zone
- Area 2. Central Zone
- Area 3. Williamson Street Zone
About Hargreaves Street Mall
Hargreaves Street Mall is a shared use zone with 10km/hr, one way traffic flowing from Mitchell Street towards Williamson Street with a number of short term, onsite carparks and a loading zone.
At over 170 meters in length, Hargreaves Street Mall provides numerous event space opportunities referred to as Central, Mitchell and Williamson areas. The central entertainment space features a small permanent stage, overhead TV screen and fixed seating and is suitable for a range of small to medium activities such as;
- Musical performances and entertainment
- Craft workshops or art installations
- Business or commercial promotions, special offers, giveaways, new product displays and launches, and product or service demonstrations
- Displays, exhibitions, expos and travelling shows
- Outdoor exercise
- Community celebrations
The Mitchell and Williamson Street ends of the Mall are also suitable for small to medium scale activities with sites for marquees and other event structures.
Closure of the Hargreaves Street Mall to vehicle traffic for larger scale events and festivals will require permission from the City of Greater Bendigo. Any road closure costs and permits will need to be arranged by the event organiser.

Hargreaves Street Mall Vehicular Access
Hargreaves Street Mall is now open to one-way vehicular traffic. A 10km per hour speed limit applies. A short-term loading bay for drop off and pick up is located in the central section of the Mall.
