Community halls

Community centres and halls are buildings available to hire for a wide range of different activities.

We have many different community buildings available for public and community group hire. You can use them for regular or occasional meetings and private events.

Volunteer committees of management look after day to day operations of the buildings and maintain them for the City.

You will need public liability insurance to hire a facility. The City can provide public liability insurance at no cost of up to $20,000,000 for hirers who do not have their own cover.  The buildings committee of management can provide details of this cover.

Marong Historic Shire Hall

Seat of the former Marong Shire Council, this large, red brick hall is available for use for community activities and events.

The Marong Historic Shire Hall is a large, red brick building in the centre of Marong, which housed the former Marong Shire Council prior to amalgamation in 1994. Nowadays the hall is an open space available for community use.

Quarry Hill Community Hall

Situated beside the Quarry Hill Recreation Reserve, this mud brick hall is a bustling hub for community groups and activities.

Raywood Town Hall

The Raywood Town Hall is a historic brick building, built in 1878. It hosts a number of community activities, as well as being available for public hire.

Sailors Gully Hall

Located just out of Eaglehawk, the Sailor's Gully Hall is a functional community space available for hire.

Spring Gully Hall

The Spring Gully Hall is a community building located on Spring Gully Road, and is used for a range of community activities such as dance classes, as well as private hires.

Strathdale Community Centre

Nestled in the open green surrounds of Strathdale Park, the Strathdale Community Centre offers a variety of training rooms and a large hall for hire with access available seven days per week.

Strathfieldsaye Historic Shire Hall

The Strathfieldsaye Historic Hall is the old Shire building located along the main road to Strathfieldsaye, and is available for community use.
